The Gold Coast Airport Marathon has announced Qantas Assure as the official health insurance partner of the premier road race to be held on 1 – 2 July.
Qantas Assure, health, life and travel insurance from Qantas, will reward runners involved in this year’s event.
The partnership provides Qantas Frequent Flyer members entered in any of the eight Gold Coast Airport Marathon events with the opportunity to earn Qantas Points while they train using the Qantas Assure App, tracking their training runs along the way to the start line.
Gold Coast Airport Marathon CEO Cameron Hart said the Qantas Assure wellness program is an innovative approach to rewarding people for training for this year’s event.
“Not only do our participants train to attain a personal goal on race weekend, they often use the event as a reason to adopt a heathier approach to life and the Qantas Assure App goes a long way in helping with this,” Mr Hart said.
“As well as providing some great benefits to those taking on a personal challenge in July, this partnership promotes an active lifestyle and the forming of good habits for life.”
Brian Funston, Executive Manager Qantas Assure agreed the accord provides a wonderful opportunity for those training for the annual event while tracking progress with the app.
“Qantas Assure rewards app users just for being active, so we’re excited to partner with the Gold Coast Airport Marathon to give participants the opportunity to reward themselves as they train,” Mr Funston said.
“Training can be a challenge, but knowing runners can earn points to use towards flights, hotel stays and thousands of items from the Qantas Store when they hit their goals will hopefully give Qantas Assure members an added incentive to be active.”
The first 1,000 Qantas Assure App users who enter or update their entry for the Gold Coast Airport Marathon and include their Qantas Frequent Flyer number between today and 11:59pm Sunday 30 April 2017 will earn 1,000 Qantas Points.
Early bird entry fees are also available to anyone entering the Gold Coast Airport Marathon before 11:59pm Sunday 30 April 2017.
