Wheelchair 10km

 

Join others striving for a personal best and soak up the beautiful Gold Coast on Australia’s flattest, fastest and most scenic course in the Wheelchair 10km. Take in the stunning water views from Sundale Bridge and race alongside the Gold Coast broadwater to a grandstand finish chute at the Broadwater Parklands.

Minimum age 12
Fee $95 (Tier 1 until allocation exhausted) / $115 (Tier 2 until sold out)
Cut off time 1 hours 40 minutes (Policies and etiquette)
Race Records Male: 23:59 (Samuel Rizzo, 2022)
Female: 31:41 (Emily Tapp, 2023)

*Please note the Wheelchair races need to close 2 weeks prior to Event weekend in order for us to secure accompanying cyclists.

NOTE: Hand-cycles or Day Chairs are NOT permitted. The 2025 Wheelchair 10km is run under Athletics Australia, World Para Athletics and World Athletics rules which state that this is an athletics event and only a recognised racing wheelchair is permitted. No mechanical gears are permitted on the chair.

Getting to the Start Line

Whether you drive and park, catch a bus or tram, get dropped off or walk if you are staying close by, it’s important to plan how you’ll get to and from the race precinct. Please ensure you arrive at least one hour before your race.

Start Zones

Give yourself ample time to warm up and position yourself at the start line in front of the runners when directed by start line marshals.

Past Results

See if you achieved a personal best or how you fared against others with our results featuring split times. You can also print off your finisher certificate and share your result socially. Past results are available from 2006 – 2024.

Race Precinct

The Race Precinct is located at the Broadwater Parklands, Marine Parade in Southport. It is where the start and finish lines are located and is the centre of all the action and atmosphere on race weekend.

Policies & Etiquette

Before racing in the CPL Wheelchair 10km it’s important you read and understand the cut off policy, race policy, race etiquette and weather policy. These policies are to ensure the safety of all participants over race weekend.

Familiarise yourself with the water and refreshment stations on the CPL Wheelchair 10km course. FIXX Nutrition endurance drink mix Fuel X and water will be available.

Celebrate your CPL Wheelchair 10km achievement by collecting your finisher shirt and medal in the Recovery Area and download your finisher certificate after the event.
