Why I Run: I run to inspire myself and others to keep moving forward, no matter how hard the journey gets. Running has been a big part of my life that allows me to share my passion and fitness journey. Running teaches me patience, discipline, and the joy of growth, both on and off the road.

Why I Run: I run because it keeps me smiling, even on tired legs! After pacing GCM 2025, I’m excited to return as a runner for this marathon. The cheers, the vibes, and the community always bring out the best in me.
Jasmine Finney
New Zealand

Race: China Airlines Half Marathon
Why I Run: Seven years ago, I was told I’d never run again after an accident. Through rehab and determination, I returned to running, improved my times each year, and now just make the elite cut-off, a milestone that once felt impossible. Sharing this journey resonates with others chasing comebacks and breakthroughs.

Why I Run: I run to raise funds and awareness for charity organisations. I also run for my personal mental health, it makes me happy. Movement is medicine afterall, I’m a much better person when I run. Lastly, it’s about community, the people you meet during a run keep the motivation high.
Kristin Trappitt

Race: Fixx Nutrition Gold Coast Double 63.3km
Why I Run: I love running, being part of a community, and encouraging others to be part of a journey. Being a fifo geologist, it’s good to help show that others on restricted lifestyles can stay healthy and still get out to achieve something.
Kelly Rosas

Race: ASICS Gold Coast Marathon
Why I Run: I run for many reasons… for me, for the peace it brings, the friendships, for the moments, for those that can’t and to inspire others including family and friends. As a living kidney donor running has taken on a stronger and more special meaning as I am now running to show other live donors that anything is possible and keeping those who receive or are awaiting transplant in my mind as a motivation to keep going when things get tough. Together we are stronger than we believe possible!
Delaney Troon
Victoria

Age: 19 Instagram: @delaney_troon
Race: ASICS Gold Coast Marathon
Why I Run: I’m a 19 year old from Ballarat and running runs through my blood. February of 2025 I ran 21 half marathons in 21 days for mental health in Ballarat and raised $210,000 for Ballarat men’s mental health. I lost my dad to his battle of mental health when I was 6 and I now use running as a way to raise awareness for the importance of speaking up and seeking help.
Rede Carney

Race: ASICS Gold Coast Marathon
Why I Run: I love the marathon because it’s raw and real and there’s no hiding from the training or cutting corners. The marathon block of training teaches us about ourselves and builds discipline, resilience, and an understanding of what’s possible when we keep showing up with intention and passion.
Amy Bunder
Tasmania

Age: 25 Instagram: @endo.well.being
Race: China Airlines Half Marathon
Why I Run: Running has become such a big part of my life, not just for fitness but for the community and the mindset it builds. I started my running journey initially to help support my friend who was looking to better their health but wasn’t confident to do it on their own. Together we stuck out the couch to 5km program and I continued to push and motivate her. During this process I fell in love with running and the way it makes me feel. I am more confident in myself and it has also helped me with my own health journey with stage 4 Endometriosis.
Clay Daly
Queensland

Age: 23 Instagram: @clay.daly
Race: ASICS Gold Coast Marathon
Why I Run: I started running for my dad after he suffered a massive stroke almost 2 years ago. I started running to honour him and what he’s been through, doing my first marathon at GCM 2025 while pushing my dad in a wheelchair raising funds and awareness for the stroke foundation. What began as a personal mission has become something so much bigger! Now I continue to run to inspire others and remind them to never give up. I run for something more, I run for those who can’t.
Alex Gillett
South Australia

Race: China Airlines Half Marathon
Why I Run: I run because it grounds me – it’s where I find clarity, purpose and peace. Running pushes me to my limits, teaches discipline, and gives me space to think, reflect, and grow. It’s not just about chasing times or medals – it’s about becoming 1% better every single day.
