How it all works:

#GCM21 training runs are virtual training events, where entrants complete the training run on their chosen running route and then log their results via the Race Roster results portal.

#GCM21 entrants will receive an invite closer to each event date, inviting them to claim their training run. Once claimed entrants will receive details about how to complete their virtual run and log their result.

Registered but not interested in completing the training run? Please just ignore the claim email.

Not registered but interested in challenging yourself against the GCM running community? You can register for $10.00 on our Training Run Websites (see links above).

How do I complete the Virtual Race and upload my result?

There are three options for completing your virtual race and uploading your result:

1. Use the ASICS Runkeeper™️ app (you will need to run with your phone for this option) 2. Use a GPS Running Device and sync with ASICS Runkeeper™️ app 3. Use a GPS Running Device and load result manually

Option 1

ASICS Runkeeper™️ app (Run with your phone)
1. Download the ASICS Runkeeper™️ app from the App Store to your mobile phone (download here)

2. A few days prior to each virtual training run period, you will receive an email with your unique race link. Click on this link from your mobile device. Please note that you can also find your unique link on your participant dashboard (here).

3. Your Runkeeper™️ app should display a red dot on the chequered flag icon to show that you have successfully linked your race.

4. When you are ready to run your race click on the chequered flag, select your event and click on “Start Your Race”

5. There is a 3-second countdown and then your race will start – GOOD LUCK!

6. Select pause and then stop once you have finished your race distance and then save to complete the race. Your results will be automatically loaded to the live race results leader board. For a more detailed explanation please click here.

Option 2

Use your GPS running device (Garmin, Apple Watch, Fitbit etc) & sync your run with the ASICS Runkeeper™️ app

1. Download the ASICS Runkeeper™️ app from the App Store to your mobile phone (download here).

2. Connect your GPS running device to the Runkeeper™ app. Steps to connect your FitBit, Garmin, or Apple Watch to the Runkeeper™ app are linked here.

3. OA few days prior to each virtual training run period, you will receive an email with your unique race link. Click on this link from your mobile device. Please note that you can also find your unique link on your participant dashboard (here).

4. Your Runkeeper™️ app should display a red dot on the chequered flag icon to show that you have successfully linked your race (in the app click on ‘Start’ and ‘Quickstart’ to view the screen in the app shown in the image above).

5. On race day, put on your GPS running device and get ready to record your race – on your marks, get set, go – GOOD LUCK!

6. Upon completion of your race distance, sync your recorded run to the Runkeeper™️ app (if your bluetooth pairing is on this sync should happen automatically when your watch and phone come back into range of one another. If needed refer to how to connect your device at step 2 above).

7. Open the Runkeeper™️ app and click on the ‘Start’ menu icon then click on the chequered flag button and and follow the prompts to select your event, select your race and click on “Link Recent Activity”.

8. Choose your completed run from the list of eligible activities and your result will be automatically loaded to the live race results leader board.

Please note that your Runkeeper™️ app must be running version 10.8.1 to work with your Garmin. For a more detailed explanation please click here.

Option 3

Use your GPS running device and/or GPS running app to record your race & manually upload your result to the results page

1. Set your device or running app to record your run.

2. On your marks, get set, GO – good luck!!

3. Upon completion of your selected race, click here and select “Submit a virtual result”. From here, you will be prompted to sign in to your Race Roster account or you can enter your last name and confirmation number (from your Race Roster event confirmation email).

4. Input your completed time, load a screenshot of your completed race from your ASICS Runkeeper™️ app (or other tracking app) or a photo of your race results shown on your GPS watch as verification and agree to the terms.

5. Once you click “Submit result” your result will be automatically loaded to the live race results leader board. For a more detailed explanation please click here. Running your virtual race on a treadmill? No problem, follow the steps for Option 3 – you will need to take a photo of your result displayed on your treadmill and load this photo as your verification.
