2020 will be my 12th Village Roadshow Theme Parks Gold Coast Marathon. Without a doubt, my previous pacing role at this event has been one of my most memorable running experiences. I look forward to helping fellow runners achieve their sub 3-hour marathon aspirations in July.

Running is such a rewarding sport and just as I have achieved my PBs with the help of pacers, I’d love to pay it forward and get you that PB at this year’s marathon. I enjoy the camaraderie of being part of the marathon ‘bus’ and look forward driving one this year.

Eliud Kipchoge inspires others to believe the impossible is possible.  With self-belief and teamwork I believe that this too is possible.  The running community plays a huge role in my life, from groups that I train with to volunteers and support crews.  I am beyond excited to be able to give back to the community and help others achieve their goals.

Why do I choose to pace? The balloons! I get to run with balloons! Running is freedom and it’s highly rewarding to share in fellow runners’ excitement and emotions over the course of the race. I love giving back to the sport that has given me so much joy over the years. Let’s do this! Get with the green and run with me and break 3:30!

The marathon is a journey and a challenge. As a pacer, I want to share the culmination of your journey and help you achieve your goal.  Having experienced many emotions during various marathons, I now love to use that experience to benefit others and encourage them on their marathon journey.

I am motivated as a pacer as it gives me energy to be part of the running community I love. It’s a great day to make new friends and be part of the best road race in Australia. In my non running world, I read, travel, hang with my dog and dream of travel.

The Village Roadshow Theme Parks Gold Coast Marathon is my home race and I volunteer as a pace runner each year to help encourage the runners and support the event. I love the excitement at the turn-around point at Burleigh Heads and can’t wait to experience it again with my pace group in 2020.

Running has the ability to bring people together physically, emotionally and spiritually. Someone once told me that the definition of one’s ‘calling’ is an activity where one’s passion meets the needs of people. This is the reason why I am honoured to help people achieve their marathon goals in one of the most beautiful locations in the world.

I love being a part of race weekend, whether as a participant, pacer, spectator or all three! Running 42.2km, sharing the journey, the views and stories along the way. Sometimes we even share gels and salt tabs! Whatever it takes, I look forward to taking the 4hr bus right to the end. Jump on!

Being a pacer will be an amazing opportunity to return some of the kindness, advice and support I’ve received along my running journey.  I look forward to helping others work through the nerves, the doubts and “the wall” to experience the elation that comes from crossing that finish line.

Being a mother of two young girls I know what it’s like to come back to running and exercising after a lengthy time off. I would love to share with people the great sense of achievement you get from obtaining a personal best. I get a lot of happiness from encouraging and helping my runners and at the same time having a blast of fun.

I ran my first marathon on the Gold Coast 34 years ago, I still remember that day like it was yesterday. Your first marathon is a very special journey and the Village Roadshow Theme Parks Gold Coast Marathon has some great memories for me. If you run in the 4:30 group with me I look forward to making it a special day for you.

I’m pacing again for my 3rd year out of four for the marathon. Pacing others through such an awesome event that pushes everyone to their limits lets me give back to the community that I value so much.  Running in a pack benefits us all! Join me for the 4:30 marathon train.

I’ve run lots of marathons but one thing is always constant- the hollow pit in my stomach on the start line as I contemplate what lies ahead. To reassure fellow runners on the startline, to encourage and communicate throughout the race, to see them finish and thank me for my help – that’s the buzz I get and that’s why I volunteer to pace.

Running is more than a team sport, it’s about people from all walks of life achieving their own personal goals. I want to help others work together to achieve their goals and give good vibes back to the running community that I have received for many years. I love to encourage and help others to achieve their own goals and to see the emotions when they get to that finish line.

I love the running community and to help people join the community and achieve their goals is an absolute privilege for me. My background in running spans over 30 years, of which I have run almost 80 marathons and many ultra-marathons. After a spine surgery, I was unsure if I would ever run again but with the help of so many runners on the GC, I am now back to almost 100%! The guys and girls along the coast are not only world-class when it comes to running at most distances but are always there to help others.

I will be the ‘chaser’ again, running my 20th Village Roadshow Theme Parks Gold Coast Marathon, my 10th as pacer and my 156th Marathon overall! Once I was fast enough to be the 3hr 30min pacer, now I bring up the rear at 6hrs 40mins, keeping the dreams of a GCM finish of those at the back of the field alive.

I have volunteered to pace because I love to encourage others to experience the emotion of completing a marathon. I challenge those who have run half marathons to take the next step and conquer the full marathon.
