Pace Runner Profiles – 10km Run
Southern Cross University 10km Run
Motivation: The air, the morning crisps, the birds, the trails, the road, the breathlessness (by the beauty and being pushed on the track)
Race day tips: No social media. Go radio silence. Focus on the race at hand and not what to post.
Motivation: Knowing that the Pat Carroll Online & Onland Pacers are able to assist so many runners reach their goal of good times!
Race day tips: Envisage yourself post-race feeling 100% ok with your performance.
Motivation: The memories of being 30 Kg overweight and struggling to walk uphill/upstairs, and now knowing the thrill of being one with nature while running.
Race day tips: Don’t deviate too much from what you have done for long training runs, except to allow yourself extra time.
Motivation: To help others reach their goals and good times!
Race day tips: Stick with me and the rest will follow!
Motivation: Adventure & discovery – Knowing that every run will give me something new. A new adventure and a new discovery of places or the chance to discover something about myself I never knew.
Race day tips: Do what works for you and don’t worry about what everyone else or your friends are doing. If you feel like doing a warm up jog – do it (even if no one goes with you), if you feel like you need to do some weird warm up manoeuvre at the start line – do it! This is your day, you’ve trained hard for it so do what you want to do and what works for you. You’ll feel much better mentally and physically during the race if you do.
Motivation: The absolute happiness and lightness that I have found it brings to my heart and my soul. Brings peace and the bliss of exploring new places on foot.
Race day tips: Wake up early, have a light but good breakfast, relax and try not to stress too much. Don’t complicate things by overthinking about the run ahead. I try to enjoy the moments.
