Surfers Paradise Brass Band
Each year the Surfers Paradise Brass Band kindly volunteer their time as a community group. When they are not entertaining the runners and spectators with their brassy tunes they are making sure Gold Coast Airport Marathoners are looked after by manning the 5km aid station and they’ll even still be there when the runners come back pass at 26km.

Surfers Paradise Spectator Hub
Join in the Gold Coast Airport Marathon festivities along The Esplanade in Surfers Paradise at the iconic Surfers Paradise sign on the beach. A variety of local buskers and cheerleaders will be on hand to entertain and cheer on the runners as they make their way past one of the most famous locations on course.

James Levi’s charismatic sounds are originally from Georgia, USA but has been touring Australia for a number of years and will ensure you’re entertained from start to finish. James Bleakley is an all round performer whose performances are pure magic and will be sure to leave you wanting more.

Broadbeach Spectator Hub
Join in the Gold Coast Airport Marathon festivities at the stunning beachside locations of Kurrawa Park and Pratten Park on Old Burleigh Road in the very heart of Broadbeach. A variety of local buskers and cheerleaders will be on hand to entertain and cheer on the runners as they make their way through the bustling suburb.

Hot Jazz n Swing Kings
First formed in 1986 the Hot Jazz ‘n’ Swing Kings have worked in many venues and performed to a variety of audiences. They have a wealth of experience which covers Jazz, Swing and Latin music which is achieved each band member being multi-instrumental.

Pantastic Steel Band Trio
The Pantastic Steel band was established in Noosa in 1997 by Clive Stead and Matt Davies. The original line-up included Clive – on Tenor, Matt – on Dbl Second, Dieter Kurten – Tenor, Ken Gibson -Triple Cello, Lowel Morris – on drums. Pantastic’s fantastic rhythms and melodies can be relied upon to bring a smile to your ears and a bounce in your step with the Colourful Sound of the Caribbean.
Location: Nobby’s Beach SLSC, Nobby Beach (12km & 19km)
The ring of the steel pan blends with the modern guitars and electronics, along with three of the most experienced musicians in their field make this group, Caribbean Connection one of the most unique combinations on the Coast circuit. The pleasure of listening to Belafonte, Marley and UB40, along with Buffet and other hits, played in this style, make the group and easy listening experience for all ages and tastes.

Mega Cheer is a cheerleading gym and is place of love and encouragement empowering athletes from as young as five to achieve skills beyond what they ever thought capable! Mega Cheer builds mateship, confidence and courage whilst teaching athletes to stunt, jump, tumble and dance under the direction of fully qualified staff ensuring safety is their top priority!

Catchy tunes , swinging riffs and fun times are guaranteed by the Jazz Kings. Mal Wood and Russell Bayne have built up a loyal following at Burleigh Heads turnaround point as they engage the runners and supporters with their feel good, motivating and inspiring music.

Tuba and Trombone
The Funky Drummers are a marathon crowd favourite. Their beats and rhythm are a great energy boost. Randall Scherle and Cvitan Barac have been working together for 10 years to create the grooves that keep the runners moving and shaking it all the way to the finish line.

Endura Rehydration Station
The Motivators are back! This group of enthusiastic, energetic and positive runners will be on hand to assist marathoners who might need some motivation during the back end of the 42.195 kilometre course. The Motivators will be located between the 32.5 kilometre mark and 41km mark and will do everything they can, from running alongside you to providing reassuring advice, to get you across the finish line.
Introducing Afrodisa, Brisbane’s newest party band bringing you Reggae, Calypso and African sounds, mixed with soul and R & B. Ghanaian front man and band founder Joe Tee has been entertaining audiences from all over the world and now in Australia and captivates the crowds with his own special blend of singing and dancing. Martin Grigg on keyboards, a member of The Caribbean Kings for many years and cover band Azitiz, a polished performer!

Cliffhangers Entertainment started in 1984 and is Queensland’s longest running DJ for Hire Company. Their reliability, experience and professionalism which includes our knowledge of music and the variety we have sets them apart. They have been proudly supplying their DJs and music to the Gold Coast Airport Marathon for 10 years.

Music straight from the streets of Carnival. Jahbutu is a high energy, positively inspired Party Dance Band. The band is renowned for creating a lively party atmosphere everywhere they have performed whilst captivating their audience with their blend of music, vibrant and colourful performances.
Location: Cnr Broadwater and Bayview Streets, Runaway Bay (36km & 37km)
Be entertained by the cabaret style of The Nev Ollis Jazz/Swing Quartet comprising trombone, piano, string bass & drums and featuring two vocalists. Arguably known as much for his forceful gravel voice as for his sweet trombone tone, Nev Ollis is never-the-less probably best known for the sheer joy he appears to get from his performances.

In order for the smooth running of the Gold Coast Airport Marathon, certain roads need to be temporarily closed during the weekend.
Saturday 1 July: Roads will be closed from 3:30am and will progressively reopen as events are completed. All roads should reopen by 11am.
Sunday 2 July: Roads will be closed from 3:30am and will progressively reopen as events are completed. All roads should reopen by 2:30pm.
Local traffic can enter and exit these roads at each closure point under the direction of police and traffic controllers. However, there will be delays. If possible, we suggest you make alternative arrangements on this weekend to avoid delays and help keep traffic to a minimum.
